OpenAI announced the release of GPT-4o mini, their "most cost-efficient small model."
GPT-4o mini is smaller and cheaper than the GPT-3.5 Turbo model.
It has a large context window of 128K tokens, meaning it can handle long conversations or texts.
The model supports up to 16K output tokens per request, allowing for extensive and detailed responses.
Its knowledge is up-to-date as of October 2023. GPT-4o mini is more cost-effective in processing non-English text.
The model can handle both text and vision inputs via the API, with future plans to support image, video, and audio inputs and outputs.
It outperforms GPT-3.5 Turbo and other small models in academic benchmarks for both textual intelligence and multimodal reasoning.
The model includes safety measures from the pre-training stage to avoid learning from harmful content and is fortified against various types of attacks.
ChatGPT’s Free, Plus, and Team users can access GPT-4o mini immediately, with Enterprise users gaining access next week.
