Google is preparing to reveal the next generation of Pixel phones, the Pixel 9 series, at the Made by Google event on August 13th. This launch will introduce new AI features, as teased in the event invite. According to Android Authority, the new “Google AI” features will enhance users’ ability to search, save, organize information, complete tasks, and spark creativity.
Introducing “Pixel Screenshots”
One notable feature, “Pixel Screenshots,” allows users to search through their screenshots. Similar to Microsoft’s Recall, this feature lets you ask questions about the content of your screenshots to help you find specific information. Unlike Recall, which captures everything on your screen, Pixel Screenshots only works with the screenshots you choose to take, ensuring user privacy.
“Add Me” for Group Photos
Another exciting feature is “Add Me,” which allows users to add someone to a group photo after it has been taken. This feature appears to be an upgrade to the Pixel 8’s “Best Take” feature, ensuring everyone is included in group photos even if they weren’t originally present.
Creative Tools with “Studio”
The “Studio” feature, reported by Android Authority, will enable users to create images, stickers, and more directly on their phones. Described by Google as “You imagine it, Pixel creates it,” this tool functions as an AI-powered image creator, similar to Apple’s Image Playground. Users can generate new images or stickers simply by describing what they want.
Grouping Under “Google AI”
These new features will join existing Google AI tools like Circle to Search and Gemini under the “Google AI” banner. While Google hasn’t made any official announcements yet, these features are expected to be revealed at the August 13 event, earlier than the usual October launch for Pixel phones.
